Elounda Collection Partners with LUX Tennis to Elevate Luxury Resort Experience
Elounda Collection Hotels & Resorts has announced the addition of LUX Tennis services across its three prestigious five-star properties – Elounda Peninsula Luxury Resort, Porto Elounda Golf & Spa Resort, and Elounda Mare Hotel, Relais & Châteaux. This collaboration aims to enhance the guest experience and further elevate the resorts offerings.
LUX Tennis, a leading tennis management company, oversees tennis, padel, and pickleball services at 46 luxury resorts worldwide. The company provides professional coaches with ATP/WTA experience, offering personalized lessons tailored to each guest’s needs.

Through this partnership, LUX Tennis will enhance the guest experience for those staying at any of the three resorts within the Elounda Collection by offering exclusive, customized tennis lessons, as well as introducing padel and pickleball. Guests can look forward to a comprehensive racquet sports experience, with opportunities to participate in private lessons, group clinics, and exclusive LT Star Events, all led by the LUX Tennis professionals on-site.
In addition to offering professional training and exclusive tennis and padel programs, LUX Tennis annually organizes around 30 “LT Star Events.” These events feature tennis stars like Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Mary Pierce, Tommy Haas, and Garbiñe Muguruza at their partner resorts.
Moreover, LUX Tennis ambassadors, Martina Hingis, former World Number 1, and David Ferrer, former World Number 3, are an integral part of the team. They attend star events and contribute to the design of the resort programs, ensuring exceptional service quality.

17th Porto Elounda Pro-Am Tournament: Celebratory Distinctions and Joyful Moments in the World of Golf
Crete has been on the global golf map since 1994, thanks to the 9-hole par-3 course of the Porto Elounda Golf & Spa Resort, part of the Elounda Collection Hotels & Resorts and since 2002, it has also featured the internationally recognized 18-hole course of the Peninsula.
These courses hosted the 17th Porto Elounda Pro-Am tournament from October 4-6, featuring teams made up of one professional and three amateur players each.
Thanks to the handicap system, the sport allows players of all levels to compete on equal terms, meaning that prizes are not just awarded to the best players, but to those who performed best on those days.

The winning team in the team event at the Peninsula course was the team from Aegean Airlines, led by professional Eugene Papadopoulos, narrowly defeating the team from the Crete Golf Club, led by professional Henrik Engdahl.
In the individual competition, which took place at the Elounda course, victor among the professionals was Themis Guinis, setting a new course record (-3), while the top amateur was Dinos Maltezakis.
Additionally, this year, for the first time under the auspices of Aegean Airlines, a foot-golf event was held, using soccer balls and large holes on the specially designed golf course in Elounda. The event featured former Greek national football players who won Euro 2004: Takis Fyssas, Yourkas Seitaridis, Angelos Basinas, Sotiris Kyrgiakos, and Giannis Goumas partnered with golfers in the tournament. The winners, after a tie and playoff, were the team of Sotiris Kyrgiakos and Panagiotis Samvaziontis.
As every year and at every golf event in Greece, the major sponsor was AEGEAN Airlines, along with Hertz-Autohellas of the Vassilakis group, while significant sponsorship came from the major partners of the Porto Elounda Golf & Spa Resort: Elpedison in the electricity sector, GMG Construction in construction, and Sychem in central mechanical infrastructures. Wine was provided by Ktima Kokotou, beers by Heineken, soft drinks by Coca-Cola 3E, and coffee by Nespresso. The olive oil on the tables was donated by Vedema, and the cosmetics for the baths by Apivita. The trophies were created and provided by the Vourakis house, while the printed materials were offered by the Lavrentakis printing house.

Beach Lounge
From April 2023 the renovated Beach lounge by the beach of the resort is offering a new lounging and dining experience. Studio 63 worked closely with the Kokotos family to create a magnificent space under the shade of centuries’ old Cretan olive trees. Stone, marble and wood are mixed with elegant furniture to create one of the most magnificent lounges on the island.
